“Since there is nothing so well worth having as friends, never lose a chance to make them.”~Francesco Guicciardini, Italian historian
This is my 501st blog post. Happy Saturday the 13th. It’s like Friday the 13 plus 1. Extra spooky.
It is fitting on this day that I announce where the Blog Friendship Cup travels to next. “Where?” you whisper breathlessly.
The BFC could be coming to you.
How is that possible?” you gasp, a sparkle of Hope dancing in your eyes.
It’s simple: leave a comment below. But as is oft said on those memorable TV commercials, “Wait! There’s more!”
Some recipients have used high-tech computer lottery systems where a random number is chosen by the capricious nature of computer bytes. I do not disparage this method–after all, that’s how I got the cup–but I choose to make this fun and creative while still being random.
In your comment, share something you liked about the Cup. (My adventures start here.) Perhaps tease with how you plan to alter or add to the cup next. Rise to the challenge of why you should be the next recipient of the BFC. Be whimsical. Funny. Poetic. Daring. Flat-out serious truthful. Tell a joke. Write a song. If you are going to enjoy the cup next, I want you to have fun with this now. The random part comes from my husband. He will choose the winner.
He doesn’t know this yet.
Since I will ask him to be a part of it all–”almost too much” is our long-standing joke–by suggesting goodies to pass along, he should choose who gets it. I will either ask him to randomly choose a number between 1-and-#all comments below OR I will ask him to choose his favorite response. That’s my whimsy, and I haven’t decided yet.
Don’t worry about any bias here. He won’t read your blog. He doesn’t read mine.
Since I’m all into spooky here, let’s reverse today’s date. On October 31 at the stroke of midnight Pacific Time, the comment window will close. The winner will be announced November 1 and the Cup sent out that weekend. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: There are rules to follow. Click this link to read The Complete Rules. You *must* read those because this is just a summary:
–Have the time and financial means to mail within 3 weeks of receiving the Cup.
–Alter the cup before mailing
–Include a gift for the next recipient
–Blog about it all
Finally, in the spirit of friendship, let’s get to know each other. If you play on Foursquare, come by and be my friend (“PSU-Lion Di”). If you play Draw Something on your phone, come sketch with me (“diwolf”).
Sooooo…let’s get this party started!

Oh, sorry I missed this – have been out straight with my crochet projects but I will post about this as soon as I can so others who may be interested will have a chance at winning too! Thanks so much for being such a lovely hostess for the cup and playing along. It’s been so nice to meet such creative and talented people along the way of this cup’s travels! :)
