Di’s WordsOf Wisdom for Dec. 11

“We loved with a love that was more than love.”–Edgar Allan Poe, author

The man loves me, he really truly loves me! After 6 hours of me stringing and replacing lights only to find that two strands did not work, he took me out for dinner and then to FOUR stores to look for new Christmas lights. And he sat in the car and insisted we wait until Hall and Oates’ “Jingle Bell Rock” (undoubtedly the best version) was over. He is wonderful!

Tomorrow is a new day for Christmas lights hanging. Here’s wishing another day of warmish weather.

For this day of Christmas we got a foot of snow (great for reindeer landings) and falling temperatures. The easier to slide on.

My guy brought home new strings of C9 LED multicolor lights which we we thinking about stringing today, but on each string one lightbulb cover is missing! So this is a warning to check the lights, open the boxes, before you bring them home. It’s over an hours drive to sams club to take them back.

Ugh. I feel for you. I always open boxes to check the lights. It’s often a treasure hunt to find an outlet, but worth it. “Amber” lights were plentiful at Wal-Mart. “Oh, something different,” thought I, and then I tried them out. Yep, there was a reason. Perfect for Halloween, so I’ll check back at 50%. We found ours at a drug store chain. Heavy-duty non-LED lights, too; the LED flickers hurt my eyes. A shame since they come in so many cool colors.
